OneCamp 2023

OneCamp is a new event concept for Scouts WA, bringing together everyone from Joey Scouts to Rover Scouts to participate in adventurous, fun, challenging and inclusive activities linked to Milestones, Outdoor Adventure Skills and Special Interest Areas.

OneCamp 2023 – Eclipse will be held during the April 2023 school holidays.

Planning for our new major event is gaining momentum and we’re now recruiting enthusiastic Scouting people to join our Design Squad and Event Team. Both youth members and adult members are encouraged to get involved.

Theme

Western Australia is the best place on the planet to see the total solar eclipse in April 2023! Just as the sun, moon and earth align, OneCamp 2023 – Eclipse will unite our age sections as we share out-of-this-world Scout adventures.

Join our Design Squad

We’re searching for youth members with a passion for Scouting to be the voice of youth members on the Event Team to craft an authentically youth-led major event.

You will work collaboratively with the Deputy Event Director (Youth) and other Design Squad members to craft key elements of OneCamp 2023. Support will be provided to help you grow into this role and develop the required skills.

Check out these benefits of joining the Design Squad:

  • Design the biggest Scout camp in WA.
  • Develop your leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Learn about event management.
  • Make new friends from across Scouts WA.
  • Have fun testing activities you create!
  • Receive a limited-edition Design Squad shirt!

Join our Event Team

The Event Team is responsible for overall leadership of OneCamp 2023, with the goal of providing an authentic and memorable major event experience for all Scouts WA members. It’s a big challenge but with a great team leading the way we’ll get the job done and have some fun along the way.

This is a unique opportunity to be involved at the ‘ground floor’ and help shape our new major event right from its inception. Joining the team is a great way to gain new skills, meet new people and help to craft an awesome event for all Western Australian Scouts.

Our Event Team will have a strong focus on the Youth Leading, Adult Supporting concept. Each team will be led by two Directors working collaboratively – one position available to a youth member aged 16-25, and one non-age specific. Support will be provided to help all team members grow into their role and develop the required skills.

We are currently recruiting Directors across the Program and Catering Services teams.

Further positions will be made available as OneCamp 2023 takes shape over the next year.
