All Scouts WA Leaders and Adult Supporters undertake a comprehensive Training Program to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to fulfil their roles.
The Training Program has been designed to meet community standards and is delivered by Scout Trainers and Assessors. It provides the knowledge and expertise to develop the skills of the youth they are leading, as well as growing their own leadership and outdoor capacities. Adults are trained in management, Scout program delivery, problem solving, creativity, organisational management, and outdoor activities.
Consisting of Basic Core and Basic Sectional Technique Modules, this training can be completed within 12 months. Child Safe Scouting and WHS for Scouting are compulsory for all Adult Members.
The Scouts WA Training Program is aligned to 15 nationally recognised VET qualifications from Certificate II through to Diploma level, which may be obtained via Recognition of Prior Learning or assessment.
Donating to the Training Program provides the opportunity for a greater number of adult volunteers to access both Scouting training and VET qualifications.
