Radio STEM (Advanced) – Scouts and Venturers
21 June
FreeA series of one-day Saturday workshops designed for Scouts and Venturers with a passion for, and a keen interest in radio, electronics and communications technology. They are suited for those who hold an Amateur Radio Licence, or who may wish to do so in the future, those with some experience in electronics, computer programming, physics and similar areas of interest.
Participants will work with a range of experienced radio enthusiasts and professionals during the workshops building, designing and using circuits, antennas, radio equipment, learning and practising new skills.
Each workshop will cover a different aspect of radio. While Scouts and Venturers can attend sessions of their choice, this activity is designed to enable Scouts and Venturers to attend multiple sessions throughout the year to build on their knowledge and understanding of radio systems.
Through the workshops Scouts and Venturers will be encouraged to work towards SIA badges with individual projects tailored to their interests.
