Scouts WA is seeking passionate and capable volunteers to join the newly established Volunteer Engagement Team within the Support Directorate. 

These three-year appointments will play a key role in attracting, supporting, developing, and retaining adult volunteers across Western Australia. Together, these roles will help ensure Groups have the people they need to deliver great Scouting experiences for young people.

Available Roles 

Branch Commissioner | Volunteer Engagement

Provide strategic leadership for the volunteer experience across Scouts WA. 

This role leads the Volunteer Engagement Team and oversees the full volunteer lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to development, recognition, and retention. You will work closely with Districts, Groups and Branch teams to create a positive, inclusive, and sustainable volunteer culture across the organisation.

Workforce planning and volunteer strategy  

Branch Advisor | Adult Recruitment

Help more people discover the value of volunteering with Scouts WA. 

This role provides leadership and support for adult recruitment initiatives across the State. You will work with Groups and Districts to improve recruitment processes, strengthen onboarding, develop practical recruitment campaigns and convert interest into active volunteers.

• Recruitment campaigns and promotion 
• Volunteer attraction and engagement 
• Enquiry management and conversion 
• Onboarding improvement 

Community engagement and growth   

Branch Advisor | Adult Progression

Support volunteers to grow, develop, and thrive in Scouting. 

This role focuses on helping adult volunteers progress through training, leadership, and development pathways. You will work with leaders across Scouts WA to improve retention, encourage ongoing development and ensure volunteers feel supported and valued throughout their Scouting journey.

• Volunteer development and mentoring 
• Leadership pathways 
• Adult progression and succession planning 
• Retention and engagement 

Recognition and milestone programs   

Branch Leader | Leaderbuild

Help Groups attract and onboard the volunteers they need to succeed. 

This role leads the delivery and growth of the Leaderbuild program across Scouts WA. You will support Groups to confidently run Leaderbuild presentations, train facilitators, improve follow-up processes and strengthen the recruitment of new adult volunteers. 

By helping more Groups successfully implement Leaderbuild, you will directly contribute to stronger volunteer teams and more sustainable Scouting programs.

• Statewide coordination of Leaderbuild 
• Facilitator training and support 
• Group recruitment capability 
• Volunteer onboarding pathways
