Inspire creativity and self-expression in young people across Western Australia. This role leads the development of visual arts opportunities that encourage young people to explore their imagination, develop new skills, and express themselves through a wide range of creative mediums.

Working with youth members, volunteer leaders, event teams, and the wider Program Team, you will develop activities, resources, and experiences that bring visual arts into the Scout Program. From painting and photography to digital design and community art projects, you will help create engaging opportunities for young people to learn by doing.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine creativity with youth development, helping more young people discover their talents, build confidence, and experience the benefits of creative expression through Scouting.

Why This Role Matters

Creative activities help young people develop confidence, problem-solving skills, communication, and self-expression. This role expands access to visual arts experiences across Scouts WA, helping young people discover new interests while supporting a balanced and engaging Youth Program.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Lead and support the Visual Arts Team to develop creative opportunities for young people across all Scout Sections.
  • Create and share practical visual arts resources, activities, and guides that can be used by Groups across Western Australia.
  • Deliver visual arts activities, workshops, and experiences that support the Creative Challenge Area and Achievement Pathways.
  • Support Branch and State events through creative projects, exhibitions, workshops, and collaborative art activities.
  • Build partnerships with artists, galleries, schools, and community organisations to expand creative opportunities for Scouts.

We Encourage You to Apply

We encourage you to apply, even if you don’t think you tick every box. Research consistently shows that people often rule themselves out of opportunities because they don’t meet every listed criterion. Scouts WA is looking for enthusiastic, capable people who are willing to learn, contribute and grow. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.

You will not be expected to know everything from day one. You will receive guidance, support, and opportunities to build your skills and grow in the role.

We are looking for people with the right attitude and strong organisational skills. Professional experience is welcome, but practical skills developed through work, volunteering or personal projects are also valuable.
