These roles provide an opportunity to influence the future of Scouting, support Leaders, develop innovative resources and create meaningful opportunities that help young people grow in confidence, capability and character. 

Whether your passion lies in leadership development, mentoring volunteers, environmental education, STEM, the arts or supporting a Section, these positions allow you to make a lasting impact on young people and Leaders across the State.   

Available Positions

Branch Commissioner | Program Delivery

Lead the delivery of quality Scouting experiences across Western Australia 

The Branch Commissioner – Program Delivery provides strategic leadership to Scouts WA’s Program Delivery Team, supporting specialist Branch Leaders and Branch Advisors who deliver resources, activities and expertise across a broad range of program areas. 

This role works closely with Program Enrichment, Events, Youth Empowerment and Section Support to ensure young people and Leaders have access to high-quality opportunities aligned with the Scouts Australia Youth Program.

Key Focus Areas: 

• Strategic leadership and direction 
• Mentoring and supporting Branch Leaders and Advisors 
• Strengthening program quality across all Sections 
• Volunteer recruitment and succession planning 
• Statewide resource development 
• Supporting Branch and State events 
• Continuous improvement and innovation     

Branch Advisor | Venturer Scouts

Support Venturer Scout Leaders to deliver exceptional youth-led programs 

The Branch Advisor – Venturer Scouts provides mentoring, coaching and practical support to Venturer Scout Leaders and Units across Western Australia. 

This role helps Leaders develop confidence in delivering engaging programs, implementing Achievement Pathways and supporting youth leadership, while ensuring Venturer Scouts have access to meaningful, challenging and rewarding experiences. 

Key Focus Areas: 

• Leader mentoring and coaching 
• Youth-led programming 
• Achievement Pathways 
• Program planning and review 
• Unit support and development 
• Resource development 

Branch Leader | Environment

Inspire environmental stewardship and sustainability 

The Branch Leader – Environment leads initiatives that help young people engage with environmental education, sustainability and conservation. 

Working alongside national and international environmental initiatives, this role supports the development of engaging programs, resources and activities that encourage young people to make a positive impact on their communities and environment.

Key Focus Areas: 

• Environmental education 
• Sustainability and conservation 
• Better World Framework initiatives 
• Sustainable Development Goals 
• Citizen science projects 
• Resource development and leader support 

Branch Leader | Terrain

Help recognise every achievement 

The Branch Leader – Terrain provides specialist support for the use of Terrain across Scouts WA. 

The role works with event teams, specialist portfolios and Leaders to ensure activities are accurately mapped to Achievement Pathways, helping young people receive meaningful recognition for their learning, participation and development.

• Cross-portfolio collaboration   

Branch Leader | Performing Arts

Create opportunities for creativity, confidence and self-expression

The Branch Leader – Performing Arts helps young people develop confidence, teamwork and communication skills through music, drama, dance and performance. 

Working alongside the STAGE Team and other creative volunteers, the role develops resources and opportunities that bring performing arts to life across all Sections.

• Leader mentoring and guidance 

Branch Leader | STEM

Inspire curiosity, innovation and problem-solving

The Branch Leader – STEM promotes science, technology, engineering and mathematics through practical, hands-on learning experiences. 

This role helps develop engaging resources, supports Leaders across the State and creates opportunities for young people to explore innovation, creativity and emerging technologies. 

Key Focus Areas: 

• Science, technology, engineering and mathematics 
• National Science Week 
• Hands-on learning experiences 
• Innovation and problem-solving 
• Resource development 
• Leader support and mentoring 

Branch Leader | Visual Arts

Encourage creativity and artistic expression 

The Branch Leader – Visual Arts develops opportunities for young people to explore creativity through drawing, painting, photography, graphic design, digital art and community projects. 

The role supports Leaders in delivering engaging visual arts experiences while creating opportunities for youth members to showcase their talents across Scouts WA.

• Drawing, painting and visual arts

• Leader support and mentoring

We are looking for people with the right attitude and strong organisational skills. Professional experience is welcome, but practical skills developed through work, volunteering or personal projects are also valuable.
