Scouts WA is seeking enthusiastic and caring volunteers to take on Youth Program Leader appointments across Western Australia. 

Every week, thousands of young people participate in Scouting to learn new skills, make friends, challenge themselves and enjoy new adventures. Our Youth Program Leaders make these experiences possible. 

Whether your interests are camping, bushcraft, STEM, creative activities, water activities, leadership development or simply helping young people grow into confident and capable adults, there is a place for you in Scouting. 

As a Youth Program Leader, you’ll work as part of a supportive team to deliver fun, engaging and adventurous programs for young people while helping them develop confidence, resilience, teamwork and leadership skills.

• Scout Leader – Hamersley Scout Group
• Scout Leader – Mosman Bay Sea Scout Group

Inspire, encourage and support young people through fun, adventure and learning. 

Youth Program Leaders plan and deliver engaging weekly programs that help young people develop skills for life through the Scout Method. Working as part of a leadership team, you’ll create safe, inclusive and enjoyable environments where every young person is encouraged to participate, challenge themselves and achieve their personal best.  

Key Focus Areas: 

• Delivering engaging weekly programs and activities. 
• Supporting the personal growth and development of young people. 
• Creating safe, inclusive and welcoming environments. 
• Encouraging youth leadership and participation. 
• Planning camps, outdoor activities and adventurous experiences. 
• Working collaboratively with other volunteer Leaders. 
• Building positive relationships with young people and their families.

You will not be expected to know everything from day one. You will receive guidance, support and opportunities to build your skills and grow in the role. 

We are looking for people with the right attitude and strong organisational skills. Professional experience is welcome, but practical skills developed through work, volunteering or personal projects are also valuable.
