Help create a Scouting community where everyone feels welcome, valued, and able to participate. This leadership role champions diversity, equity, and inclusion across Scouts WA, helping ensure young people, volunteers, and families from all backgrounds can enjoy the benefits of Scouting.

Working with volunteers, leaders, youth members, community organisations, and stakeholders, you will lead initiatives that strengthen inclusion, improve accessibility, and help build a culture of belonging across the organisation.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by supporting underrepresented communities, strengthening cultural understanding, and helping Scouts WA better reflect the diverse communities it serves.

Why This Role Matters

Scouting is at its best when everyone feels they belong. This role helps remove barriers to participation, supports inclusive practices, and strengthens community connections, ensuring more young people and volunteers can access and benefit from Scouting.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Lead Scouts WA’s diversity and inclusion initiatives, promoting belonging, participation, and respect across the organisation.
  • Support leaders and volunteers to build inclusive, welcoming, and culturally safe environments.
  • Develop and deliver training, resources, and awareness activities that strengthen understanding of diversity and inclusion.
  • Build relationships with community organisations and stakeholders to increase participation from diverse communities.
  • Identify and address barriers to participation while supporting policies, programs, and initiatives that improve inclusion across Scouts WA.

We Encourage You to Apply

We encourage you to apply, even if you don’t think you tick every box. Research consistently shows that people often rule themselves out of opportunities because they don’t meet every listed criterion. Scouts WA is looking for enthusiastic, capable people who are willing to learn, contribute and grow. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.

You will not be expected to know everything from day one. You will receive guidance, support, and opportunities to build your skills and grow in the role.

We are looking for people with the right attitude and strong organisational skills. Professional experience is welcome, but practical skills developed through work, volunteering or personal projects are also valuable.
