Help ensure Scouting is accessible, welcoming, and inclusive for everyone. This role supports young people and adults with disability to fully participate in Scouting by helping remove barriers, identify practical solutions, and create positive experiences for members and families.

Working with leaders, volunteers, young people, families, and community organisations, you will provide guidance, resources, and support that help Groups and Districts create more inclusive environments. You will also help build confidence across Scouts WA in supporting people with a diverse range of needs and abilities.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by helping ensure more young people and volunteers can access the benefits of Scouting, participate fully, and feel a strong sense of belonging within the organisation.

Why This Role Matters

Everyone should have the opportunity to participate in Scouting. This role helps remove barriers, improve accessibility, and support inclusive practices that enable young people and adults with disability to enjoy meaningful and rewarding Scouting experiences.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Provide advice and support to leaders, volunteers, and families on disability inclusion and accessibility.
  • Assist Groups, Districts, and Regions to identify barriers and implement practical adjustments that support participation.
  • Develop and deliver training, workshops, and resources that build understanding of disability and inclusive practices.
  • Support the planning and delivery of accessible events, activities, camps, and programs across Scouts WA.
  • Build relationships with disability organisations, support services, and community groups to strengthen inclusion opportunities.

We Encourage You to Apply

We encourage you to apply, even if you don’t think you tick every box. Research consistently shows that people often rule themselves out of opportunities because they don’t meet every listed criterion. Scouts WA is looking for enthusiastic, capable people who are willing to learn, contribute and grow. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.

You will not be expected to know everything from day one. You will receive guidance, support, and opportunities to build your skills and grow in the role.

We are looking for people with the right attitude and strong organisational skills. Professional experience is welcome, but practical skills developed through work, volunteering or personal projects are also valuable.
