Help create a safe and supportive environment where young people can thrive. This role provides guidance and support on child safety across Scouts WA, helping volunteers understand their responsibilities and build confidence in creating safe Scouting experiences for all young people.

Working with volunteers, leaders, and safety teams across the organisation, you will provide practical advice, deliver education programs, and help strengthen child-safe practices. You will be a key point of contact for members seeking guidance on safeguarding and child protection matters.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by helping ensure Scouts WA remains a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where young people, volunteers, and families feel confident and supported.

Why This Role Matters

Child safety is fundamental to everything Scouts WA does. This role helps volunteers understand and apply child-safe practices, strengthens safeguarding systems, and supports a culture where the wellbeing and safety of young people is always the highest priority.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Provide advice and guidance to volunteers and leaders on child safety, safeguarding, and child-safe practices.
  • Develop and deliver child safety training, workshops, and educational resources across Scouts WA.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of child safety policies, procedures, and resources.
  • Assist members to navigate child safety concerns, reporting requirements, and organisational processes.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen safeguarding practices and promote a positive child-safe culture.

We Encourage You to Apply

We encourage you to apply, even if you don’t think you tick every box. Research consistently shows that people often rule themselves out of opportunities because they don’t meet every listed criterion. Scouts WA is looking for enthusiastic, capable people who are willing to learn, contribute and grow. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.

You will not be expected to know everything from day one. You will receive guidance, support, and opportunities to build your skills and grow in the role.

We are looking for people with the right attitude and strong organisational skills. Professional experience is welcome, but practical skills developed through work, volunteering or personal projects are also valuable.
