Help build a stronger and more supportive Scouting community by promoting positive mental health and wellbeing. This role supports the development of resources, training, and initiatives that help young people and adult volunteers feel supported, connected, and equipped to thrive.
Working with volunteers, leaders, wellbeing teams, and community organisations, you will help raise awareness, reduce stigma, and provide practical information that encourages open conversations about mental wellbeing. You will support leaders to better understand wellbeing challenges and connect members with appropriate support pathways when needed.
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by helping create a culture where mental health is understood, discussed openly, and supported across Scouts WA.
Why This Role Matters
Positive mental health supports stronger volunteers, more resilient young people, and healthier communities. This role helps improve mental health awareness, strengthen wellbeing practices, and ensure members have access to the knowledge, resources, and support pathways needed to thrive in Scouting.
Key Focus Areas:
- Develop and promote mental health awareness initiatives, resources, and educational activities across Scouts WA.
- Deliver training, workshops, and awareness programs that improve mental health literacy and reduce stigma.
- Support leaders and volunteers with guidance on wellbeing, early intervention approaches, and available support pathways.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen mental health initiatives and community partnerships.
- Contribute to the development of programs, resources, and practices that support positive mental health outcomes for youth members and adult volunteers.
We Encourage You to Apply
We encourage you to apply, even if you don’t think you tick every box. Research consistently shows that people often rule themselves out of opportunities because they don’t meet every listed criterion. Scouts WA is looking for enthusiastic, capable people who are willing to learn, contribute and grow. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
You will not be expected to know everything from day one. You will receive guidance, support, and opportunities to build your skills and grow in the role.
We are looking for people with the right attitude and strong organisational skills. Professional experience is welcome, but practical skills developed through work, volunteering or personal projects are also valuable.
