Help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment where volunteers feel valued and motivated to contribute. This role focuses on improving the volunteer experience across Scouts WA by supporting initiatives that strengthen culture, engagement, belonging, and wellbeing.

Working with leaders, volunteers, and teams from across the organisation, you will help identify opportunities to improve how people experience Scouting, support positive leadership practices, and encourage respectful, collaborative relationships.

This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact by helping build a healthy organisational culture that supports volunteer retention, strengthens teamwork, and ensures volunteers feel connected, supported, and appreciated.

Why This Role Matters

A positive organisational culture helps volunteers enjoy their Scouting experience, stay engaged for longer, and contribute more effectively. This role supports stronger relationships, increased volunteer satisfaction, and a culture where people feel respected, included, and empowered to make a difference.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Support initiatives that strengthen volunteer engagement, organisational culture, and positive leadership behaviours across Scouts WA.
  • Assist with volunteer surveys, feedback activities, and organisational reviews to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Promote psychologically safe, respectful, and inclusive environments for volunteers and young people.
  • Develop and deliver training, workshops, and resources focused on communication, teamwork, leadership, and volunteer engagement.
  • Support projects and initiatives that improve volunteer satisfaction, connection, recognition, and retention.

We Encourage You to Apply

We encourage you to apply, even if you don’t think you tick every box. Research consistently shows that people often rule themselves out of opportunities because they don’t meet every listed criterion. Scouts WA is looking for enthusiastic, capable people who are willing to learn, contribute and grow. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.

You will not be expected to know everything from day one. You will receive guidance, support, and opportunities to build your skills and grow in the role.

We are looking for people with the right attitude and strong organisational skills. Professional experience is welcome, but practical skills developed through work, volunteering or personal projects are also valuable.
