Help shape the future of Scouting by attracting and welcoming new volunteers into Scouts WA. This role focuses on helping more people discover the impact they can make through volunteering and supporting them as they take their first steps into Scouting.

Working with Group Leaders, District Commissioners, and volunteer engagement teams, you will help improve recruitment campaigns, streamline onboarding processes, and ensure prospective volunteers have a positive and welcoming experience from first enquiry through to becoming an active volunteer.

You will play a key role in helping Groups build strong volunteer teams, reducing vacancies, and ensuring more young people can benefit from quality Scouting programs across Western Australia.

Why This Role Matters

Volunteers are at the heart of Scouting. This role helps attract, engage, and onboard the adults who make Scouting possible, ensuring Groups have the people they need to deliver safe, enjoyable, and life-changing experiences for young people.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Support Groups and Districts to attract, recruit, and onboard new volunteers.
  • Develop and promote recruitment initiatives that connect with people in the community.
  • Improve the experience for prospective volunteers from enquiry through to active involvement.
  • Work with teams across Scouts WA to simplify recruitment systems, tools, and processes.
  • Promote volunteering opportunities and share positive stories that encourage people to get involved.

We Encourage You to Apply

We encourage you to apply, even if you don’t think you tick every box. Research consistently shows that people often rule themselves out of opportunities because they don’t meet every listed criterion. Scouts WA is looking for enthusiastic, capable people who are willing to learn, contribute and grow. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.

You will not be expected to know everything from day one. You will receive guidance, support, and opportunities to build your skills and grow in the role.

We are looking for people with the right attitude and strong organisational skills. Professional experience is welcome, but practical skills developed through work, volunteering or personal projects are also valuable.
