Help inspire the next generation of innovators, problem-solvers, and creators. Open to Scouts, Venturer Scouts, Rover Scouts, and Adult Members, this role supports the development of exciting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) activities that encourage young people to explore new ideas, think creatively, and learn through hands-on experiences.
Working alongside the STEM and Innovation Team, youth leaders, and volunteers from across Scouts WA, you will contribute ideas, develop resources, and help deliver activities that bring STEM and innovation to life for young people. Whether your interests are technology, engineering, coding, science, design, or problem-solving, your skills can help create engaging learning opportunities.
This is a flexible and rewarding opportunity to be part of a creative team that helps young people build confidence, curiosity, and future-ready skills through the Scout Program. It is a great opportunity for youth and adult members to contribute at a Branch level while developing their own leadership, teamwork, and project skills.
Why This Role Matters
STEM skills are increasingly important in the modern world. This role helps young people develop curiosity, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving abilities through engaging activities that support their growth and prepare them for future opportunities.
Key Focus Areas:
- Support the development and delivery of STEM and innovation activities for young people across Scouts WA.
- Contribute ideas, resources, and projects that promote creativity, innovation, and learning through doing.
- Assist with STEM activities, workshops, and displays at Branch and State events.
- Work collaboratively with volunteers and youth leaders to develop engaging STEM opportunities and resources.
- Support Leaders to incorporate STEM and innovation into regular Scout programming.
We Encourage You to Apply
We encourage you to apply, even if you don’t think you tick every box. Research consistently shows that people often rule themselves out of opportunities because they don’t meet every listed criterion. Scouts WA is looking for enthusiastic, capable people who are willing to learn, contribute and grow. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
You will not be expected to know everything from day one. You will receive guidance, support, and opportunities to build your skills and grow in the role.
We are looking for people with the right attitude and strong organisational skills. Professional experience is welcome, but practical skills developed through work, volunteering or personal projects are also valuable.
Ready to Apply?
Youth Members (Scouts, Venturer Scouts, and Rover Scouts) are encouraged to apply.
