Help tell the stories that inspire people to join, support, and engage with Scouting across Western Australia. This role leads the planning and delivery of social media content that showcases the adventures, achievements, and impact of Scouting while helping grow awareness of Scouts WA in the community.
Working with volunteers, staff, and teams from across Scouts WA, you will coordinate content, schedule posts, and create engaging social media campaigns that highlight programs, events, volunteer opportunities, and youth achievements.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys digital communication, storytelling, and community engagement. Your work will help strengthen the Scouts WA brand, support recruitment, and ensure the voices and experiences of young people and volunteers are shared with a wider audience.
Why This Role Matters
Social media is often the first place people encounter Scouting. This role helps share the positive impact of Scouts WA, promotes opportunities for young people and volunteers, and strengthens connections with members, families, and the broader community.
Key Focus Areas:
- Plan and manage social media calendars that support Scouts WA campaigns, events, and priorities.
- Create, coordinate, schedule, and publish engaging content across approved social media platforms.
- Work with contributors across Scouts WA to source stories, photos, videos, and promotional content.
- Monitor audience engagement, respond within approved guidelines, and escalate sensitive matters when required.
- Support Groups, Districts, and Regions by providing guidance, resources, and best practice advice for social media use.
We Encourage You to Apply
We encourage you to apply, even if you don’t think you tick every box. Research consistently shows that people often rule themselves out of opportunities because they don’t meet every listed criterion. Scouts WA is looking for enthusiastic, capable people who are willing to learn, contribute and grow. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
You will not be expected to know everything from day one. You will receive guidance, support, and opportunities to build your skills and grow in the role.
We are looking for people with the right attitude and strong organisational skills. Professional experience is welcome, but practical skills developed through work, volunteering or personal projects are also valuable.
