Lead and support Scouting across an entire Region, helping volunteers deliver outstanding experiences for young people. This senior leadership role focuses on strengthening Scout Groups and Districts, building capable leadership teams, and ensuring Scouting continues to grow and thrive in local communities.

Working closely with District Commissioners, Group Leaders, and other senior volunteers, you will provide strategic leadership, mentoring, and support. You will help identify opportunities, address challenges, and ensure Groups and Districts are well positioned to deliver high-quality Scouting experiences.

This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the future of Scouting by supporting volunteers, strengthening local communities, developing leaders, and helping more young people access a quality Youth Program.

Why This Role Matters

Strong regional leadership creates stronger Scout Groups, better support for volunteers, and more opportunities for young people. This role helps ensure Scouting remains sustainable, accessible, and relevant across the Region while supporting the growth and development of both youth and adult members.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Provide strategic leadership and support to District Commissioners, helping strengthen the sustainability and performance of Groups and Districts.
  • Support the recruitment, development, mentoring, and retention of adult volunteers and future leaders.
  • Promote the delivery of a high-quality Youth Program and support access to key opportunities, activities, and events.
  • Build relationships within the community to increase awareness of Scouting and support membership growth.
  • Provide feedback on policies, systems, and operational challenges to support continuous improvement across Scouts WA.

We Encourage You to Apply

We encourage you to apply, even if you don’t think you tick every box. Research consistently shows that people often rule themselves out of opportunities because they don’t meet every listed criterion. Scouts WA is looking for enthusiastic, capable people who are willing to learn, contribute and grow. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.

You will not be expected to know everything from day one. You will receive guidance, support, and opportunities to build your skills and grow in the role.

We are looking for people with the right attitude and strong organisational skills. Professional experience is welcome, but practical skills developed through work, volunteering or personal projects are also valuable.
