DESCRIPTION:Please note: This course is being held at Eaton Camp\, not Manjedal.\nScouting Leadership training builds upon the skills and knowledge gained during previous training and provides the opportunity to apply this learning in a practical environment. T\nhe Scouting Leadership training consists of:\nOn-Demand Learning\nOn-the-Job Learning\nA face-to-face Scouting Leadership course\nA project \nAs part of the course\, participants will initiate a project of approximately 10 hours\, developed with a specific aim and clear goals for achievement. This project leverages the learning gained during the Scouting Leadership course. \nUpon completion of the project\, this will be reviewed by their Team Leader (typically their GL). Participants will submit their Leadership On-the-Job Statement after project completion. This will typically be reviewed by the participant’s Next Up Team Leader. DESCRIPTION:A series of one-day Saturday workshops designed for Scouts and Venturers with a passion for\, and a keen interest in radio\, electronics and communications technology. They are suited for those who hold an Amateur Radio Licence\, or who may wish to do so in the future\, those with some experience in electronics\, computer programming\, physics and similar areas of interest. \nParticipants will work with a range of experienced radio enthusiasts and professionals during the workshops building\, designing and using circuits\, antennas\, radio equipment\, learning and practising new skills. \nEach workshop will cover a different aspect of radio. While Scouts and Venturers can attend sessions of their choice\, this activity is designed to enable Scouts and Venturers to attend multiple sessions throughout the year to build on their knowledge and understanding of radio systems. \nThrough the workshops Scouts and Venturers will be encouraged to work towards SIA badges with individual projects tailored to their interests. \nTime: TBA\nVenue: TBA \nNote – These workshops are not designed for group bookings for a whole Unit or as an introductory activity. DESCRIPTION:Eligibility – Scouts\, Venturer Scouts\, Rover Scouts\, Leaders & Adult Members\nMax numbers – 10 participants (minimum of 4 participants required) \nLearn to exit and re-enter Kayak\, roll a Kayak with a paddle\, roll a Kayak without a paddle. \nThe Activity will begin with a brief and end with a review. Participants are required to wear a rashie and boardies. \nCost: Entry fee to pool – $7 participants MUST visit the Aquatic Office to pay gate entry before they enter the water. SUMMARY:Canning Ascent
DESCRIPTION:This is a two-day expedition up the Canning River from Waylen Bay Scout Hall in Applecross to Royal St\, Kenwick. \nYou will carry all your camping gear and food in your canoes. You will camp overnight at Canning Scout Hall. \nYou will be paddling approx. 10km each day. Some canoeing experience is advised; this is not an event for people who have never paddled before. \nThe Scouts WA Paddle Team will supply Qualified Activity Leaders for the event. SUMMARY:Venturer Scout Personal Development Course
DESCRIPTION:This course is open to all Venturers of all ages. \nVenturer Scout Personal Development Courses\, Leadership and Unit Management will run concurrently with courses sharing meals and accommodation. This course is able to be used a Personal Development Course for the Kings Scout Award. Depending on number of participants there may be times where courses participate in games / sessions together. \nAt the Venturer Scout Leadership course participants will learn personal and leadership skills\, how to become active citizens\, new ways of thinking or approaches to reflect on individual leadership experiences and development\, problem solving\, communication and task management. \nThe Venturer Unit Management Course is an invaluable way to learn the ins and outs of making your Unit Successful. Leaders are also highly encouraged to attend. \nVenturer Scouts are encouraged to attend if they feel they have the necessary maturity and willingness to fully engage and actively participate. \nAll meals will be included\, youth will be sleeping in the hall and required to bring own bedding.
