DESCRIPTION:Eligibility – Scouts\, Venturer Scouts\, Rover Scouts\nMax numbers – 20 participants (minimum of 4 participants required) \nSkill Stations: Participants move through guided activities such as fitting and clearing masks\, mastering the “blast method” for clearing snorkels\, and practicing efficient finning techniques. \nSafety Training: Instructor lead briefings on water safety\, buddy systems\, and underwater hand signals. \nProvided: masks\, snorkels and fins\, though participants are allowed to bring their own if suitable. \nThe Activity will begin with a briefing and end with a review. Participants are required to wear a rashie and boardies. \nCost: Entry fee to pool – $7.20\, participants MUST visit the Aquatic Office to pay gate entry before they enter the water. DESCRIPTION:This is a two-day expedition up the Canning River from the Waylen Bay Sea Scout Hall in Applecross to Royal St\, Kenwick. \nYou will carry all your camping gear and food in your canoes. You will camp overnight at the Canning Sea Scout Hall. \nYou will be paddling approx. 10km each day. Some canoeing experience is advised; this is not an event for people who have never paddled before. \nThe Scouts WA Paddle Team will supply Qualified Activity Leaders for the event. This is an opportunity for ALL Scouts\, Venturers and Rovers to do a two-day expedition. \nYouth cost: $40 \nThe Paddle Team can help any groups who need to borrow canoes but the sooner you ask\, the more likely we can help. \nThis event will also include a PD for any leaders working on or maintaining a Canoeing qualification. \nRegistrations are open in ScoutMap at R-004000 and will close 4pm 2nd October. \nIf you are experiencing difficulties registering\, please contact Events: events@scoutswa.com.au before the event closes.

DESCRIPTION:Scouting Leadership training builds on the skills and knowledge gained during previous training and the opportunity to have applied this learning in a practical environment. Scouting Leadership training comprises of On Demand Learning\, On the Job learning\, a Scouting Leadership face-to-face course and a project.\nLeveraging learning completed during the Scouting Leadership course\, a project of approximately 10 hours (over three months) will be initiated with a specific aim and goals for achievement.\nCompletion will usually be reviewed by the participant’s Team Leader as part of the final Wood Badge Evaluation step. In line with National Adult Training and Development Policies\, the Team Leader will often be the Group Leader or line manager (if they have achieved a Wood Badge themselves).
