One stream is focused on Radio Communications and the practical use of radio as a communications medium. SUMMARY:Radio STEM (Advanced) - Introduction - Scouts and Venturers
DESCRIPTION:A series of one-day Saturday workshops designed for Scouts and Venturers with a passion for\, and a keen interest in radio\, electronics and communications technology. They are suited for those who hold an Amateur Radio Licence\, or who may wish to do so in the future\, those with some experience in electronics\, computer programming\, physics and similar areas of interest. \nParticipants will work with a range of experienced radio enthusiasts and professionals during the workshops building\, designing and using circuits\, antennas\, radio equipment\, learning and practising new skills. \nEach workshop will cover a different aspect of radio. While Scouts and Venturers can attend sessions of their choice\, this activity is designed to enable Scouts and Venturers to attend multiple sessions throughout the year to build on their knowledge and understanding of radio systems. \nThrough the workshops Scouts and Venturers will be encouraged to work towards SIA badges with individual projects tailored to their interests. \nTime: 1pm – 5pm\nVenue: 12 Farris Place\, Innaloo \nNote – These workshops are not designed for group bookings for a whole Unit or as an introductory activity. Participants are required to wear a rashie and boardies. \nCost: Entry fee to pool – $7 participants MUST visit the Aquatic Office to pay gate entry before they enter the water. DESCRIPTION:Scouts WA is participating again in the 2024 Perth Pride festival with an entry in the parade on Saturday evening. \nScouts\, Venturers\, Rovers and Adult Members who are allies of the LGBTIQA+ community are invited to attend. \nScouts and Venturers must be dropped off and collected by their parent/caregiver at the marshalling area in Northbridge before and after the parade. \nAll Rovers and Adults will be expected to assist with supervision of Scouts and Venturers\, and must remain with the Scouts WA entry until all Scouts and Venturers have been collected at the end of the parade. \nFee for participants is $5. \nRegister through ScoutMap HERE.
