DESCRIPTION:This course is open to all Venturers of all ages. \nVenturer Scout Personal Development Courses\, Leadership and Unit Management will run concurrently with courses sharing meals and accommodation. This course is able to be used a Personal Development Course for the Kings Scout Award. Depending on number of participants there may be times where courses participate in games / sessions together. \nAt the Venturer Scout Leadership course participants will learn personal and leadership skills\, how to become active citizens\, new ways of thinking or approaches to reflect on individual leadership experiences and development\, problem solving\, communication and task management. \nThe Venturer Unit Management Course is an invaluable way to learn the ins and outs of making your Unit Successful. DESCRIPTION:**Due to bad weather\, Rotto Splash has had to be postponed. Rotto Splash will now take place on the 4th October. Participants who had previously registered for the event\, who are now unable to attend the new date have until the 13/09 to cancel their registration through ScoutMap and request a refund. All refunds requested prior to this time will be granted\, provided the registration is cancelled through ScoutMap.** \n  \nThis year’s one-day event will focus on the environment\, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)\, and community service\, all while working on your OAS progressions. Thanks to support from the Rottnest Island Authority\, we will begin the day with a ranger-led talk followed by a beach clean-up with data collection on the collected waste contributing to environmental awareness and action. \nYouth will need to register into one of 2 groups each aligned with a specific SDG theme: Life Below Water and Life on Land. Linking Scouts\, Rovers and Venturers are all invited. \nThe Life on Land group will conduct their clean-up by bike\, during which participants could log up to two bike rides for OAS progression. \nThe Life Below Water group will focus on a snorkelling-based beach clean-up. Participants in this group may complete most\, if not all\, of OAS Stage 4 Snorkelling and have option to further complete Safe Participant Snorkelling.” Venturer Scouts participating in Snorkelling will need to bring their own wetsuit or thermal swimming suits / vest. Snorkelling set will be provided if you do not have your own. DESCRIPTION:intermediate Radio – Scouts/Venturers session 1 \nThe Scout SIA STEM and Innovation badge requires Scouts to complete 8 hours of activity.\nThe Venturer Scout SIA STEM and Innovation badge requires Venturers to complete 12 hours of activity.\nTwo different Scout/Venturer Radio workshops are offered. \nSession 1 – Land Radio (two hours duration) – involves learning the basic setup and operation of a radio system\, and covers radio-related aspects of the OAS Bushwalking Stage 4 and 5 communications components. \nThese sessions may include a special focus such as Venturers and Nighthawk \nSession 2 – Electronics and Soldering (four hours duration) – This workshop involves learning basic soldering skills and the construction of an electronics project and basic fault finding. \nTo complete the remaining time requirements\, Scouts and Ventures would complete an individual or patrol project. DESCRIPTION:Advanced Radio STEM Workshops \nA series of one-day Saturday workshops designed for Scouts and Venturers with a passion for\, and a keen interest in radio\, electronics and communications technology. They are suited for those who hold an Amateur Radio Licence\, or who may wish to do so in the future\, those with some experience in electronics\, computer programming\, physics and similar areas of interest. \n  \nParticipants will work with a range of experienced radio enthusiasts and professionals during the workshops building\, designing and using circuits\, antennas\, radio equipment\, learning and practising new skills. \n  \nEach workshop will cover a different aspect of radio. While Scouts and Venturers can attend sessions of their choice\, this activity is designed to enable Scouts and Venturers to attend multiple sessions throughout the year to build on their knowledge and understanding of radio systems. \n  \nThrough the workshops Scouts and Venturers will be encouraged to work towards SIA badges with individual projects tailored to their interests. \n  \nNote – These workshops are not designed as an introductory activity. Participants are required to wear a rashie and boardies. \nCost: Entry fee to pool – $7 participants MUST visit the Aquatic Office to pay gate entry before they enter the water.
