SUMMARY:Canning Ascent
DESCRIPTION:Eligibility – Scouts\, Venturer Scouts\, Rover Scouts\, Leaders & Adult Members \nThis is a two day expedition up the Canning River from Waylen Bay Scout Hall in Applecross to Royal St\, Kenwick. You will carry all your camping gear and food in your canoes. You will camp overnight at Canning Scout Hall. It is approx 10km each day. The WA Scout Paddle Council will supply Qualified Activity Leaders for the event. This is an opportunity for ALL scouts who have access to canoes to do a two day expedition. \nRegister through ScoutMap HERE. SUMMARY:First Aid Course
DESCRIPTION:Eligibility – Scouts aged 14 and over**\, Venturer Scouts**\, Rover Scouts\, Parents\, Leaders\, Adult Members\nMax numbers – 20 participants \nCost- $152.00 \nCOURSE DETAILS & REQUIREMENTS:\nTIMES: 8:30am to 4:30pm. You will need to bring your own morning tea and lunch\, fridges are available or lunch can be purchased at local cafes. Tea and coffee will be available. \nPARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS: \nThe Provide First Aid 1 day course would benefit all those at work\, home or for leisure. The course provides an excellent general grounding in first aid and will enable you to perform appropriate first aid procedures and basic life support skills. This course satisfies training requirements across a range of community and workplace settings and includes DRSABCD St John Action Recovery Position\, including infant and adult perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with ARC Guidelines. Access and operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) during a cardiac arrest.\nProvide first aid in accordance with first aid principles and practices. Write and communicate details of an incident. Participate in a variety of scenarios\, including allergic reaction\, anaphylaxis\, asthma\, bleeding\, burns\, cardiac conditions including chest pain\, choking\, diabetes\, drowning\, envenomation\, eye injuries\, fractures\, dislocations\, sprains and strains\, head\, neck and spinal injuries\, hyperthermia\, minor wounds\, nosebleed\, poisoning\, seizures\, shock\, sharps injuries and stroke.\nThe Provide First Aid 1 day course combines three units of competency. Upon successful completion of the course\, you will be issued with a statement of attainment (certificate) for the following units HLTAID011 Provide First Aid\, HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support & HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation. \n**MINIMUM AGE: Open to youth members aged 14 and over\, Rovers Scouts\, Parents\, Leaders\, and Adult Members. 14–15-year-olds must have an adult with them and 16-17 will need parents’ permission. \nMANDATORY PRE-LEARNING: There is an online component for the First Aid Course. Information will be emailed to registered participant prior to the course to give access to the pre-learning. \nRegister through ScoutMap HERE.
