DESCRIPTION:Scouting Essentials Course – June \n  \nEligibility – Rover Scouts\, Leaders\, Volunteers \nMax numbers – 24 participants \nScouting Essentials are the ‘survival skills’ for an Adult Leader. They explain how the youth Achievement Pathways work\, how to operate a youth led program\, the Patrol System\, youth empowerment and some initial leadership skills training. \n*Registrations close 4pm June 5 2026\, or when the course has reached capacity. Once capacity has been reached\, a waitlist will be established. You must have completed all the required On-Demand Learning Modules before you are added onto the waitlist. Facilitated Activity ($35) \nSupporting Leader ($10)\nIncludes camping fees\, badge & food for the weekend.\nLeaders will be camping separate from patrols & will be given a role for the weekend.\nDue to the nature of the event\, there is a limit of one leader per patrol. DESCRIPTION:This is a two-day expedition up the Canning River from the Waylen Bay Sea Scout Hall in Applecross to Royal St\, Kenwick. \nYou will carry all your camping gear and food in your canoes. You will camp overnight at the Canning Sea Scout Hall. \nYou will be paddling approx. 10km each day. Some canoeing experience is advised; this is not an event for people who have never paddled before. \nThe Scouts WA Paddle Team will supply Qualified Activity Leaders for the event. This is an opportunity for ALL Scouts to do a two-day expedition. \nThe Paddle Team can help any groups who need to borrow canoes but the sooner you ask\, the more likely we can help. \nThis event will also include a PD for any leaders working on or maintaining a Canoeing qualification. \nRegistrations will be in ScoutMap and will close 4pm 2nd October. \nIf you are experiencing difficulties registering\, please contact Events: events@scoutswa.com.au.
