DESCRIPTION:Start Date – 8th May 7:00PM \nEnd Date – 10th May 4:00PM \nLocation – Manjedal Activity Centre (163 Manjedal Road\, Karrakup 6122) \nEligibility – Rover Scouts\, Leaders\, Volunteers \nMax numbers – 26 participants \nScouting Essentials are the ‘survival skills’ for an Adult Leader. They explain how the youth Achievement Pathways work\, how to operate a youth led program\, the Patrol System\, youth empowerment and some initial leadership skills training. \nThere are two parts to Scouting Essentials. A series of self-paced on demand training modules which must be completed prior to registering for this face-to-face course.\nThe following online modules can be found at training.scouts.com.au \nScouting Preliminary On Demand:\nSP ADULT – I’m and Adult Leader\nSP CHILD – Child Safe Scouting\nSP METHOD – The Scout Method\nSP SAFE – Preliminary ScoutSafe\nSP SPICES – Educational Objectives & SPICES\nSP WHS – WHS for Scouting\nSP YLAS – Youth Leading\, Adult Supporting \nScouting Essentials On Demand:\nSE ACHIEVE – Achievement Pathways\nSE BEHAVE – Managing Behaviors\nSE EMPOWER – Youth Empowerment\nSE INCLUDE – Being Inclusive\nSE PATROL – The Patrols System for One Program\nSE PDR – Plan> Do> Review\nSE RESILIENCE – Building Resilience\nSE SCOUT – I’m a Scout\nSE THANKS – Thank you BP\nSE YLPROG – Youth Led Programming \nOnce these have been completed\, please register for the Scouting Essentials course. Scouts have a huge program of Outdoor Adventure Skills covering nine areas. \nThe self-paced on demand modules focus on equipping a new Leader to lead in the three core areas of Bushcraft\, Bushwalking and Camping.\nThe following online modules can be found at training.scouts.com.au \nScouting Adventure On Demand:\nSA E NAVIGATE – Elementary Navigation\nSA NAVIGATE – Navigation Skills\nSA COMM – Operate Communication Systems\nSA SITE – Camping Skills\nSA EQUIP – Equipment for Lightweight Camping\nSA BUSHPLAN – Bushwalking Skills\nSA GUIDE – Plan and Guide Outdoor Activities\nSA IMPACT – Minimal Environment Impact Practices\nSA WEATHER – Interpreting Weather\nSA GROUP – Group Facilitation\nSA EMERG A – Responding to Emergencies\nSA OUTDOOR PLAN – Planning for Outdoor Activities \nNot everything can be learnt online. After the new Leader has the theoretical knowledge from these modules\, they will need to complete a face-to-face Scouting Adventure Course.
