Meet Kalita, who has been a member of Scouts WA for 6 years

How long have you been a member of Scouts?

I have been in Scouts for 6 years (since Joeys)

Why do you like being a Scout?

I like being a Scout because it has taught me a lot of leadership skills.

What are your favourite activities that you've done as a Scout?

I've been overseas twice. Once to Singapore in 2013 for a Camporee, and once to Sri Lanka this year for a Jamboree.

What has been your greatest achievement as a Scout?

I have recently been awarded my Blue Cord and aspire to get my ASM (Australian Scout Medallion).

What is your best memory of being a Scout?

I would have to say going overseas and meeting so many lifelong friends from all over the world. I've got friends from the UK who I still keep in contact with now.

(Also our Group Leader singing 'Oh What a Beautiful Mornin' so delightfully to wake us all up on camp!)

What are some valuable things you have learned through being a Scout?

I have learned leadership and teamwork skills that I can apply everywhere in life, whether it's at a job or even just group work at school.

Describe yourself in three words.

Spontaneous, outgoing and adventurous.
